Tyrell Williams Placed on IR and Will Miss Season

The Las Vegas Raiders have placed wide receiver Tyrell Williams on IR, ending his season on Tuesday. Williams is set to have surgery on a torn labrum and will miss six months according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 28-year-old receiver signed with the Raiders last season and had 42 receptions for 651 yards and six touchdowns. In his career, Williams has 197 receptions for 3,181 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Las Vegas will now be heavily relying on rookie wide receivers this season. Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards and Lynn Bowden were all drafted this season and will likely see the field early. Hunter Renfrow also will likely see an increased role after a solid season in 2019.
