Defensive back Trevon Diggs has signed a huge new contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys. Diggs has agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $97 million, with a maximum reported payout of $104 million.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Diggs was a second round pick by the Cowboys back in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s made the Pro Bowl twice (in 2020 and 2021), and the First Team All-Pro in 2021. During that All-Pro season, he was the NFL’s interceptions leader.
Last season, in 17 games, Diggs had 59 tackles, 50 of them solo (both career highs). He only had three picks in 2022-2023, which is a big dropoff from his 11 back in 2021. His 14 pass defenses tied his rookie season.
