After signing with the Raiders during free agency in 2019, Trent Brown has been traded back to the New England Patriots according to multiple reports. The Raiders and Patriots will swap picks in the 2021 NFL Draft as apart of the deal.
Brown, 27, played the 2018 season with the Patriots and won a Super Bowl with the team. He reworked his contract to be for one year and up to $11 million to help make the trade possible. During his career, he has made one Pro Bowl, which came in his first season with the Raiders.
The Patriots will hope that Brown can help the offense be more effective after they scored just 20.4 points per game in 2020.
Las Vegas has started to shed salary in preparation for free agency. They have already cut guard Gabe Jackson before trading Brown. The deal will save the Raiders over $13 million according to Over The Cap.
