The NFL season is here. With no preseason games and limited time of preparation, there is so much to anticipate for Week 1 of play.
Here are the top predicted headlines after the first week of play:
Prescott, Cowboys roll to their first victory over the Rams
Projected score: Dallas Cowboys 27-17 Los Angeles Rams
Sunday Night Football’s first game of the season will be held at SoFi stadium in Inglewood California with the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Rams. Mike McCarthy will see success with his new revamp coaching staff and improved defense. Dak Prescott and his offensive are looking fearless. With a struggling Rams defense, Elliot and Lamb will look to run the slots, while the wide receiver duo of Cooper and Gallup will see a lot of time running long routes.
Without offensive star Todd Gurley II, the Rams offense will have to adjust without his offensive success. This requires Jared Goff to put more work in the offense and work with the trio of running backs Malcolm Brown, Darrell Henderson Jr. and Cam Akers, ESPN Reports. The Rams may be able to score some points on the Cowboys, but not enough to beat them on Sunday.
Rodgers dominates as the Packers claim victory over the Vikings
Projected score: Green Bay Packers 20-10 Minnesota Vikings
Aaron Rogers has been healthy for the past two seasons after his collar bone injury, and it does not look like age is stopping him. The Packers’ offense will dominate over the Vikings’ questionable defense. Running back Aaron Jones is coming off an excellent year, with 19 touchdowns and 1,084 rushing yards. He will surely be a big name in Sunday’s game, along with running back Jamaal Williams and second-round draft pick A.J Dillon from Boston College.
The Vikings’ offense will look decent, but not enough to beat the Packers. Kirk Cousins had a good year in 2019, but he did lose to Rodgers twice last season. The Vikings also lost several main key components to their defense, which is why Rodgers and the Packers will defeat the Vikings in front of a crowd less U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Brady’s Buccaneers debut ends with a loss
Projected score: New Orleans Saints 30-17 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tom Brady will play his first game against the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes Benz superdome, where he will see defeat against the Saints. The Saints ended last season on a high, despite losing to the Vikings in the wildcard game. Brees is committed to another two seasons with the Saints, and he will look to extend his legendary career for one more season.
This matchup will see the top two quarterbacks in NFL history. The Saints, however, are the stronger team with NFL’s best wide receiver Michael Thomas and running back Alvin Kamara. Those two will dominate the offensive, along with Brees. The offensive trio will split the Buccaneers’ defense and take the win on Sunday.
Ravens steamroll over the Browns for their first win of the season
Projected score: Baltimore Ravens 35-10 Cleveland Browns
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens will come into the season stronger than ever, and they will show it on Sunday against the Browns at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Ravens made little changes in the offseason so they can keep their dominating team and look to win the Super Bowl after a disappointing end to the 2019 season. Though the Browns had improved their team in the offseason, it will not enough to stop the dominating Ravens.
Jackson along with running back Mark Ingram will run through the Browns’ defense and put as many points on the board as they can. Baker Mayfield can put points up against the Ravens’ defense with star wide receiver Odell Beckham on the team, but not enough to get a win against the Ravens.
