The Eagles’ 2021 post season has just begun, which means it is time to start thinking about this year’s draft. One of the top positions that the Eagles are looking to improve upon in the upcoming 2021 season are wide receivers. The Eagles already feature receivers like Greg Ward Jr., Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson and Travis Fulgham. There are some big names on this list, but the Eagles have been struggling with injuries and lack of production. These are the top three receivers that the Philadelphia Eagles should take in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Legendary Alabama Wide Receiver DeVonta Smith

DeVonta Smith was a stud at The University of Alabama in 2020 totaling 1,856 receiving yards and winning the Heisman Trophy. Critics are skeptical of his speed, but with all of his other skills this should not affect him much in NFL. Smith also boasts 23 receiving touchdowns in the 2020 season, which is the most this year in all of college football. The Eagles need someone who can produce immediately and need weapon to their wide receiving core to help out their quarterback. Smith carries many attributes that are needed as an NFL wide receiver such as strength, route running and he has the ability to make big plays. It would not be surprising if the Eagles take him in the first round.
Drafting LSU Star Ja’Marr Chase in 2021

Another receiver that the Eagles could take in the 2021 draft is LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Chase opted out of the 2020 season, as he wanted to be ready for the NFL Draft. This has not hurt Chase’s draft stock as he is still one of the top receivers in the upcoming draft. Chase managed to be one of the top receivers in the 2019 season, racking up over 1,700 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns. Chase is another great wide receiver that can produce points, which the Eagles desperately need in the 2021 season. Chase is also a great route runner and has the ability to get open. He is known for his insane juking ability, which makes it harder to bring him down once he catches the ball. He is without a doubt another receiver the Eagles will look at if they choose to draft a receiver in the first round.
Drafting top LSU Receiver Terrace Marshall Jr.

LSU wide receiver Terrace Marshall is another highly touted receiving prospect that could have the ability to turn heads in the NFL. Marshall totaled 731 receiving yards and caught 10 touchdowns in his 2020 campaign at LSU. He is a tall 6-foot-3 receiver that gives him the ability to make great plays in coverage. He also has speed which can give the Eagles options in the wildcat and end around plays. Marshall will give the eagles plenty of scoring opportunities inside the red zone. Although Marshall has first round abilities, look for him to go in the second round of the draft. Marshall could also provide the Eagles options if they choose to go with another position in the first round.
Look for The Eagles to draft one of these top three receivers in the 2021 NFL Draft. All of these players have the potential to be breakout stars in the NFL.
