Thomas Davis Rejoins Ron Rivera with Washington Redskins

Linebacker Thomas Davis will rejoin former head coach Ron Rivera in Washington as the two sides agreed on a deal.

No details about the terms of the contract have been released yet.

Davis, 36, played 13 seasons with the Panthers which included time spent under Rivera. Last season, he joined the Chargers, but now he will team up with his former coach again.

In his career, Davis has 1,210 tackles, 90 tackles for loss and 54 passes defended. Last season with the Chargers, he had 112 total tackles, three passes defended and two tackles for loss.

The Redskins have been actively searching for linebackers and help in general on the defensive side of the ball this offseason. They signed cornerback Kendall Fuller and brought back Jon Bostic at linebacker. With the additions, they will look to improve in 2020.
