The Tennessee Titans are letting go of their general manager. Jon Robinson is being fired after a six-plus year tenure in Tennessee. This was Robinson’s first and only General Manager position in the NFL, although he held some other front office positions in his career.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Robinson played defensive lineman at Southeast Missouri State University for three years before graduating and becoming a graduate assistant coach at both SEMO and Nicholls State. He, then, moved onto scouting jobs with the Patriots, collecting two Super Bowl rings with the organization.
He’s been an executive since 2013, when he was the Director of Player Personnel with the Buccaneers for three years. This led him to his GM position with the Titans, which was just extended in February. Moves such as trading away A.J. Brown and signing Julio Jones could be indicators of why he was let go.
