New Orleans quarterback Taysom Hill has signed a contract extension with the Saints. The extension is worth $22.5 million guaranteed, but the rest of the money on the contract is dependent on the position he plays for the team. The total contract could be for anywhere between $40 million and $95 million over four years.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Monday afternoon.
New Orleans’ QB Taysom Hill signed a unique four-year, hybrid-type of contract extension that could be worth anywhere between $40 million and $95 million, depending on the position he plays, and includes $22.5 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN.

Hill went undrafted and joined the NFL in 2017. He was with the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad until signing with the Saints, whom he has remained with ever since. He has had several roles with the team in many different offensive schemes.
He has played quarterback, tight end, wide receiver, running back and special teams. It is likely that the higher end of the money on the extension is based on him playing at the quarterback position, or have an impact at another skill position. He has a total of four passing touchdowns and four interceptions. He also has 11 rushing touchdowns on his career.
