The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to re-sign cornerback Carlton Davis according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He will sign a three-year, $45 million deal.

Davis, 25, was a 2018 second-round pick by the Buccaneers and has spent four seasons with the team. In his career, he has six interceptions and 52 passes defended. In 2021, he racked up one interception and 11 passes defended in 10 games played. He was a starter on the 2020-2021 Buccaneers’ Super Bowl team.
The secondary ended up being a weakness for the Buccaneers last season, as they dealt with injuries, including to Davis. Locking him up and getting Tom Brady back from retirement will give them another chance at a Super Bowl.
