Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard has a season ending injury. According to reports, Shepard tore his ACL in Week 3’s Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys. He will not return for the remainder of the Giants’ 2022 campaign.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Shepard has been a Giant since being drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He has only played two full seasons, in 2016 and 2018. 2022 will be his shortest season, at just three games. Previously, his shortest season was 2021, at only seven games.
So far this year, Shepard played in all three games, starting two. He had 24 targets and 13 receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown in 2022. This touchdown total matches his 2021 season. Stay tuned to TGH for more injury news from around the NFL.
