The Pittsburgh Steelers have completed a trade for Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Minkah Fitzpatrick will return to Miami in the trade. Ramsey will also get a $1.5 million dollar raise from the Steelers. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news.
Ramsey, 30, is a seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. He has played nine NFL seasons with the Jaguars, Rams and Dolphins. His play helped the Rams win the Super Bowl during the 2021-22 season.
The Steelers already added veteran cornerback Darius Slay this offseason, as they look to make their strong unit even better. Last season, the Steelers won 10 games, but lost in the first round of the playoffs, so they’ll hope the acquisitions of Slay, Ramsey and quarterback Aaron Rodgers can take them a step further this year.
In return for Ramsey, the Steelers are sending Fitzpatrick back to Miami, where he started his career. He has played seven seasons, all with the Dolphins and Steelers. Fitzpatrick, 28, is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro.
