The Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly escaped the grasp of defeat after defeating the Tennessee Titans by three points.
The Steelers clashed with the Titans yesterday, and what seemed to be a sure won victory quickly turned into a gripping nail biter. However, the Steelers managed to pull through winning the game 27-24. This game makes the Steelers undefeated for the six week in a row, leaving the Titans with their first loss.
The team’s performance was a bit spotty in this game, with Ben ” Big Ben” Roethlisberger who had 268 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. However, had a bit of trouble during the second half and had three interceptions.
James Conner contributed to getting the Steelers down the field with 82 rushing yards and 29 receiving yards. Also, John Sherman “JuJu” Smith-Schuster had 85 receiving yards. Chase “Mapletron” Claypool, had minus -2 receiving yards.
The Steelers’ defense struggled the most against the Titans but managed to get two crucial sacks on the Titans quarterback.
The Steeler MVP’s
Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson dominated the first quarter of the game. He and Roethlisberger managed to push out 80 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. He was one of the contributing factors to getting the Steelers their big lead on the Titans. This also comes after Johnson was reportedly injured and was listed as “questionable” before yesterdays game
Another MVP for the Steelers was the defense in the second half. While they did allow the TItans to catch up to the Steelers making it a three-point game, they manage to hold off the powerhouse running back, Derrick Henry from winning the game for the Titans.
Lastly, while not scoring any point Raymond “Ray-Ray” McCloud III had a 57-yard punt return and set the team up for a touchdown.
The Steelers play their conference rival, the Ravens next week on November 1 in Baltimore.
