The Seattle Seahawks have made a trade ahead of the October 31 trade deadline. In return for defensive lineman Leonard Williams, the Seahawks are sending the Giants a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Williams was drafted sixth overall back in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Jets. After four-plus seasons with the team, he was involved in a rare inter-city NFL trade by being sent to the Giants for a third and a fifth round pick.
In eight games so far this year, Williams has started all but one. He has collected 1.5 sacks, one pass defended, and 21 combined tackles. His best season came the year after he was traded to the Giants, when he racked up 11.5 sacks and 57 tackles.
