The San Francisco 49ers are re-signing Jimmie Ward to a three-year, $28.5 million deal according to Ian Rapoport.

Ward, 28, played the first six seasons of his career with the 49ers. He has 251 total tackles, 29 passes defended and two interceptions in his career. The former first-round pick has started 44 games for San Francisco.
The 49ers traded DeForest Buckner, but have kept most of the roster together for another run at a Super Bowl.
