Former first-round pick and current Chicago Bears linebacker Roquan Smith has requested a trade from the franchise he announced on social media Tuesday.

Smith, 25, has played all four years with the Bears, but mentions that negotiations for a contract extension with the team have not gone well. In his note, he alleges the Bears are trying to take advantage of him and want him to sign a deal that would be bad for him, not to mention the entire linebacker market.
Although he leaves some hope for the McCaskey family to come in and save the situation, it doesn’t appear that he thinks that is likely.
Over his four years, he has 524 total tackles, 14 sacks and five interceptions. He has received All-Pro votes, but has never made an All-Pro Team or Pro Bowl so far in his career.
