Center Rodney Hudson has been traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals sent a third and a seventh round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft back to the Raiders in return for Hudson’s services.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
Hudson was a second round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011. He left Kansas City for the rival (then Oakland) Raiders before the 2015 season for $44.5 million over five years, with $20 million guaranteed. He then signed a three-year extension that made him the highest paid center in the NFL.
That contract now belongs to the Cardinals, who have been on a free agent spending spree during the 2021 offseason. Among others, the Cardinals have added the likes of J.J. Watt and A.J. Green, clearly making a run at a playoff appearance.
