Former Texas Longhorn and NFL running back Cedric Benson has passed away after a motorcycle accident on Sunday morning. His brother Dominic Benson posted on social media with the news. It has since been confirmed by multiple sources.

Benson, 36, played four seasons at Texas, from 2001-2004. Every season in Austin, Benson rushed for over 1,000 yards. He finished his career with 5,540 rushing yards and 64 touchdowns. His 5,540 rushing yards rank him ninth all-time for a Division I college career.
He was drafted fourth overall in the 2005 draft by the Chicago Bears. Benson later played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers. In his eight seasons in the NFL, Benson rushed for 6,017 yards and 32 touchdowns. His best season was 2012 with the Bengals, when he rushed for 1,251 yards and six touchdowns in just 13 games played.
