The Atlanta Falcons have cut running back Mike Davis. By cutting Davis, the Falcons save $2.5 million on their salary cap. He is now a free agent, and is available to be picked up by any team.
Pro Football Focus’ Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Monday morning.
The 29-year-old Davis was drafted in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Before landing with the Falcons in 2021, he bounced around to the Seahawks, Bears and Panthers. His best year came with the Panthers in 2020, which led him to his Falcons stint.
In 2021, he played in 16 games, rushing for 473 yards and three touchdowns. He also racked up 261 yards and put up one additional touchdown. Stay tuned to TGH for more NFL news, including where Mike Davis signs next.
