The Baltimore Ravens have signed Devonta Freeman to their practice squad. Due to their running back shortage, he should be promoted to the roster immediately and perhaps even play on Monday night in Las Vegas.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news via Twitter on Thursday.
The signing of Freeman comes after Gus Edwards becomes the third Ravens running back to suffer a potential season-ending injury. Justice Hill and J.K. Dobbins tore their Achilles tendon and ACL, respectively, sidelining them for the entire 2021 campaign.
Ty’Son Williams is now the only running back on the active roster, before Freeman is promoted. It is reported that the Ravens are also looking at Latavius Murray and Le’Veon Bell to fill out their running back room, although those signings have not taken place yet.
