Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny is out for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season with a severe leg injury. It was reported on Monday that a fractured tibia was expected, and following tests to Penny, a fibula injury was eventually confirmed.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Penny has, unfortunately, been injury prone in his five-year NFL career. He’s never played in every game of an NFL season. In the last three years alone, Penny has played in just 18 of 49 possible games due to various injuries.
This season, Penny rushed for 57 times for 346 yards and two touchdowns. In 10 games last year, he had 746 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He was playing on a one-year contract after the Seahawks declined his fifth-year option.
