The Los Angeles Rams have traded linebacker Kenny Young to the Broncos. They will also send a 2024 seventh-rounder in the trade and receive the Broncos’ 2024 sixth-round pick. The NFL trade deadline is not until November 2, making this a rare, non-last minute swap.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Young was a former fourth round pick by Baltimore in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was then traded to Los Angeles in 2019 for an undisclosed draft selection. In 32 games played with the Rams, Young has started in 13, including all seven games of the 2021 season.
The Broncos completed the trade due to their horrible cluster injuries to the linebacker position. Eight Broncos linebackers are injured, six of whom are on injured reserve. Young was already a starting-caliber linebacker on the Rams stout defense, who will most certainly retain a starter role in Week 8 with his new team.
