Brooks is considered one of the best guards in football. He has made the Pro Bowl in each of the past three seasons. He has only missed six games in his career, but missed this past postseason because of a dislocated shoulder. Now his torn Achilles is more rehab for Brooks to deal with.
Since the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to contend next year they should they could possibly explore bringing in a veteran guard to replace Brooks in the starting lineup.
The best interior offensive lineman available on the market is former New Orleans Saints guard Larry Warford. Warford was released after the draft where the Saints took Cesar Ruiz in the first round. Like Brooks, Warford has also made the Pro Bowl in each of the past three seasons so there wouldn’t be much of a drop off of production inserting him into the lineup.
If the Eagles wanted to go a cheaper route, Ron Leary is a reliable starter that could fill Brooks void for as season.
