The Pittsburgh Steelers, stole the game away from the Indianapolis Colts, beating them 28-24 after being down 21-7 at the end of the first half.
After suffering an unexpected three-game losing streak, the Pittsburgh Steelers managed to clinch a last quarter victory against the Indianapolis Colts, December 27. The first half of the had fans predicting the Steelers would lose, after seeing the Steelers down 21 to 7 at the start of the second quater.
However, the Steelers began to pick up steam during the second quarter, ending the third quater with a touchdown and only giving up a field goal to the Colts. During the fourth quater, the Steelers shutdown the Colts, by stopping them from scoring the entire quater, and scoring two touchdowns, putting them in the lead right before the end of the game.
The Steelers win against the Colts locks the team in second place for the AFC and the ranked number one in the AFC North, out of four teams.
Pittsburgh Steelers Stats Breakdown
The Steelers stats didn’t start to pick up until the very end of the second half.
The defense managed to gather five sacks, an interception, one fumble recovered and allowed 21 points to be scored. They also were a key part in keeping the Colts at bay during the fourth quarter, allowing the offense to gain the lead at the last minute. In addition to forcing a turnover with a little more than a minute to go in the fourth quater, winning the game for the Steelers.
Ben Rothlesburger had 342 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and had two rushing yards.
Diontae Johnson, Eric Ebron and JuJu Smith-Schuster, were the recievers to Rothlesburger’s touchdowns. Johnson in the third quarter, and Ebron and Smith-Schuster in the fourth quater. Chase Claypool had 54 recieving yards.
James Connor had a rushing touchdown in the begining of the second quater.
The Steelers play the Cleveland Browns January 3 at 1:00 pm eastern time.
