One of the top names on the free-agent market has found a home. Philip Rivers has agreed to a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Rivers spent the first 16 seasons of his career with the Chargers, but the team did not negotiate with him this offseason. The 38-year-old quarterback has passed for 59,271 yards, 397 touchdowns and 198 interceptions on 64.7 percent completion in his career.
The Colts had to deal with the surprising retirement of Andrew Luck before last season and gave Jacoby Brissett an opportunity to start. With Brissett, they competed for a playoff spot, but ultimately fell short. Now, the Colts have an experienced veteran to take over if they choose to move on from Brissett.
