The Philadelphia Eagles will be traveling to the Mile High City this weekend to take on the Denver Broncos. Philadelphia comes into this game as a 2.5-point underdog. They have a record of 3-6, as they dropped their last game against the Los Angeles Chargers. This article will give a preview of the Eagles’ Week 10 game against the Broncos.
Stick with what’s working
The Eagles had 39 carries and 176 rushing yards as a team against the Chargers in their last game. This is a new trend this season, as the Eagles have been mainly throwing the ball with Jalen Hurts this year. Since Miles Sanders has been injured Boston Scott and Jordan Howard have been taking most of the carries. Boston Scott started off hot at first against the Lions, as he had 60 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Howard also made also turned heads in that game too, as he had 57 yards and two touchdowns. Howard followed up that game with 71 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Chargers. Boston Scott on the other hand had 40 yards rushing during that game.
The Eagles need to stick to this rushing attack against Denver. This will make their offense less predictable, and Jalen Hurts should do better as teams will not be expecting the pass every down. It will also allow them to incorporate more play action and maybe take a couple shots down the field. If the Eagles stick to their most recent game plans, then this should be a very close game against Denver.
Eagles players to watch
Denver allows opponents to pass for an average 223 yards a game. This ranks eighth in the league. The Broncos are good when it comes to protecting the pass. Which is why the rushing attack is so important as said above. Jordan Howards is one of those players to watch in this game.
Besides him, the Eagles are going to have to get some production out of their first round draft pick Devonta Smith. He has had a nice rookie year receiving, as he has 537 yards and two touchdowns on the year. Dallas Goedert will also be an important aspect for the Eagles in this game. He has great hands and can make clutch plays when the Eagles need him too. As for the defensive side of the ball, T.J. Edwards should be coming into this game with a lot of confidence. He had a huge game last week as he 14 total tackles. We will see if he can put on the same performance in this game as he did against the Chargers.
How have the Broncos done this season?
Denver has a record of 5-4. They won their first three games against some of the worst teams in the league , which were the Giants, Jaguars and Jets. They then lost four in row after that winning streak, but now they have won their last two games. The Broncos feature Melvin Gordon at running back, who has had a nice season. He has 477 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Broncos also have Teddy Bridgewater as their starting quarterback. Bridgewater has had a up and down year but has some decent numbers. He has over 2,000 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. He also has five interceptions on the season.
Prediction
This is going to end up being a very close game throughout. The Eagles are coming off a heart-breaking loss to the Chargers, but played well throughout the game. The Broncos on the other hand are on a two-game winning streak and have momentum on their side. The Eagles should pull off the small upset against the Broncos.
Score Prediction: Eagles 21- Broncos 17
