The Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns have completed a trade that will send Genard Avery to the Eagles for an undisclosed 2021 draft pick. Cleveland posted the trade on social media on Monday.
Avery, 24, was decently productive last season with 4.5 sacks, but wasn’t getting much playing time this season, as Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon have teamed up at the defensive end position. Cleveland will look to free agency for more pass rusher depth.
Philadelphia will add to their pass rushing rotation with the acquisition of Avery. He will join Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett and Josh Sweat in getting after quarterbacks for the Eagles. They have 21 sacks as a team this season.
