After extremely shaky quarterback play from both Mac Jones and Baliey Zappe, the New England Patriots are re-signing Will Grier for a second time. This will be the fourth time in 2023 (if including both Patriots stints) Grier has been signed since the preseason.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Grier was drafted in the third round (100th overall pick) of the 2019 NFL Draft after spending time at two different universities during his college football career. He’s started two games in his NFL career so far, both for the Panthers, going 0-2 in those games.
In his NFL career so far, he’s completed 28 of 52 passes for 228 yards. He’s thrown zero touchdowns and four interceptions. Starting in the preseason, Grier spent time with the Cowboys, then signed to the Bengals practice squad and now is on his second-straight stint with the Pats.
