Free agent running back Nick Chubb will sign a one-year deal with the Houston Texans pending a physical according to Ian Rapoport.
Chubb, 29, spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Cleveland Browns. He rushed for 6,843 yards and 51 touchdowns during his time in Cleveland. Over the past two seasons, Chubb has played in just 10 total games and rushed for 502 yards. He tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus in the second week of the 2023 season and came back in 2024 to play eight games.
If he passes his physical, he will join a running back room that includes former Cincinnati Bengal Joe Mixon. Dameon Pierce and Woody Marks are also running backs for the Texans who will fight for playing time.
