The NFL season is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are NFL Wild Card Round picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Monday morning)
Last Week: 10-6
Season: 134-136-2
Los Angeles Rams (-10.5) at Carolina Panthers
Carolina defeated the Rams just a few weeks ago. The Rams are heavily favored and will probably win this time around, as Sean McVay should have the team ready. Carolina should be able to keep the game to may be a touchdown or so.
Pick: Panthers
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears (-1.5)
The Packers and Bears played two close games and split them in the regular season. In the second game, Jordan Love was knocked out early. With him returning, the Packers will have a better shot to take advantage of some of the Bears’ weaknesses on defense. Green Bay can pull off the win on the road, as the Bears are still new to playoff football.
Pick: Packers
Buffalo Bills (-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars
Buffalo hasn’t been playing up to their standard for a lot of this season and now have a tough matchup in Jacksonville. In a coin flip matchup, the Bills can be the pick because of Josh Allen’s ability to change the game. It is the best chance he has to advance to the Super Bowl, even if it is a tough first-round game.
Pick: Bills
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5)
San Francisco is really banged up heading into the playoffs and their defense gave up some big plays to the Seahawks. Philadelphia should be able to rely on their defense and have their playmakers move the chains to win and cover at home.
Pick: Eagles
Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots (-3.5)
The Chargers have injuries on the offensive line that can be exploited. Drake Maye has had an MVP-caliber season and should be able to move the ball decently well against the Chargers to help the team win and cover at home.
Pick: Patriots
Houston Texans (-3.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers
Houston has a great defense that will travel, but this game will still likely be close, as the Steelers have the highest-paid defense in the league. The Texans can win the game, but it could be a close one to close out the week, as Aaron Rodgers has been playing well down the stretch.
Pick: Steelers
