The NFL Wild Card Round is here and football is entering the end of the season. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL Wild Card Round picks against the spread. (Spreads are from ESPN as of Wednesday morning)
Last week: 7-9, Overall: 130-120-5
Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans (-3)
The Texans started A.J. McCarron at quarterback last week and rested Deshaun Watson. They were torched by Derrick Henry. Buffalo’s defense will limit Houston and their offense should be able to pick up yards on the ground to control the clock.
Pick: Bills
Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots (-5)
New England has struggled down the stretch, but for the most part they have found ways to win games. After losing to the Dolphins a little confidence should be lost in them. The Titans have a more balanced attack with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry both playing well. Tennessee may not win, but they will keep it close.
Pick: Titans
Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints (-7.5)
It is a rematch of the Minnesota Miracle game. The Saints will want revenge and should be able to get it in this game. Their offense is on fire right now and the defense is good enough to win them a few games in the playoffs. Add in Kirk Cousins’ struggles in big games and the Saints should be able to cover.
Pick: Saints
Seattle Seahawks (-1.5) at Philadelphia Eagles
Both teams have several key injuries heading into this game. Seattle’s style of play should be able to be sustained because Russell Wilson is at quarterback. If they can run the ball decently, Wilson will carve up the Eagles’ secondary.
Pick: Seahawks
