NFL Week 8 Picks Against the Spread

Publish Date: October 21, 2025

The NFL season is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are NFL week 8 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)

Last Week: 9-6

Season: 51-57

Thursday Night Football

Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5)

The Vikings have a quarterback issue as Carson Wentz is starting to struggle and J.J. McCarthy is injured. Even if McCarthy played, it is tough to be thrown in on a short week when he didn’t play well earlier this season. The Chargers should be able to win and cover at home.

Pick: Chargers

Sunday Afternoon

New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)

The Jets are a mess right now and have benched Justin Fields. This may give the Jets more of a chance, but the Bengals had extra time to prepare and the Jets don’t have a good defense. With Joe Flacco having more time to learn the offense the Bengals should win by more than a touchdown.

Pick: Bengals

Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons (-7.5)

The Dolphins look lost right now, but this game is indoors, which should help them give them more offensive efficiency. Atlanta is playing well this season, which means winning the game will be tough for the Dolphins, but they can keep it close.

Pick: Dolphins

Cleveland Browns at New England Patriots (-6.5)

The Browns picked up a win over the Dolphins, but traveling to New England is a tougher game. New England is firing on all cylinders right now with Drake Maye playing well.

Pick: Patriots

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5)

While the Giants defeated Philadelphia at home a few weeks ago, the Eagles seemed to fix some of their issues and are at home. That games was on a short week, but Philadelphia will be prepared. The Giants are also coming off a tough loss to the Broncos in which they blew a big lead. If the Eagles keep the ball on the ground they can win and cover.

Pick: Eagles

Buffalo Bills (-7) at Carolina Panthers

Buffalo is coming off a bye and will be playing the Panthers who could be without Bryce Young. The Bills can focus on stopping the run and should be able to play up to their potential to cover.

Pick: Bills

Chicago Bears at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

Baltimore should be able to pick up a win in this game after coming off a bye. Lamar Jackson is expected to return as well. The Ravens still have plenty of defensive issues that the Bears can exploit and keep the game close.

Pick: Bears

San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans (-2.5)

The Texans are on a short week and haven’t looked good this season. San Francisco continues to battle through injuries and look good with Mac Jones at quarterback. They should be able to win on the road.

Pick: 49ers

Sunday Evening

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4) at New Orleans Saints

Tampa continues to have injuries pop up and are coming off a loss to the Lions. The Saints and quarterback Spencer Rattler didn’t look as proficient last week. Baker Mayfield can lead his team to a win on the road.

Pick: Buccaneers

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts (-14.5)

The Colts are a very good team that can run the ball well and will likely win this game. But more than a two-touchdown spread is a lot. Tennessee should be able to keep it close against a divisional foe.

Pick: Titans

Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos (-3.5)

Denver had an incredible comeback against the Giants last week. Their offense still has some issues moving the ball consistently and the defense isn’t living up to the preseason hype. Dallas can score and should at least be able to keep the game close, if not win outright on the road.

Pick: Cowboys

Sunday Night Football

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers

The Packers aren’t playing their best football, but are winning games. Pittsburgh usually starts seasons well then fade as the season goes on, which seems to be happening again this year. The Packers can win this game and cover against their former quarterback.

Pick: Packers

Monday Night Football

Washington Commanders at Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5)

The Commanders could be without Jayden Daniels, who has a hamstring injury. His status is unknown for this week, but the Commanders have had some good moments with Marcus Mariota in the game. The Chiefs can win at home, but the Commanders can cover the spread.

Pick: Commanders
