NFL Week 7 Picks Against the Spread

Publish Date: October 18, 2022

NFL Week 7 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 7 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)

Last week: 8-6, Season: 42-49-3

Thursday Night Football

New Orleans Saints at Arizona Cardinals (-1.5)

Even without a lot of their stars active over the last two weeks, the Saints have played decently. The Cardinals have struggled all season and scored nine points against the Seahawks. New Orleans should be able to pull off an upset.

Pick: Saints

Sunday Afternoon

Green Bay Packers (-5.5) at Washington Commanders

Green Bay has not been up to form this season, but this could be the game where they put it together. They will be going up against a Commanders’ team without their starting quarterback, as Taylor Heinicke will start.

Pick: Packers

New York Giants at Jacksonville Jaguars (-3)

The Jaguars have faded after a good start, while the Giants have kept their level of play up. Brian Daboll has done a fantastic job getting the Giants ready to play, even when starters are out.

Pick: Giants

Atlanta Falcons at Cincinnati Bengals (-6)

Atlanta has been a scrappy team this season, but the Bengals can focus on stopping the run in order to win this game. Their offense seems like it is starting to get hot, so they should cover.

Pick: Bengals

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (-2.5)

Tennessee is coming off of a bye week and should be relatively fresh. Indianapolis has fought and clawed for some wins, but overall Tennessee has been the better team this season so far.

Pick: Titans

Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys (-7)

Dak Prescott is projected to return for the Cowboys in week 7. Their offense should vastly improve, while their defense has already been playing at an elite level. Detroit has been fading fast the last few weeks.

Pick: Cowboys

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-10.5) at Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have fired their head coach and offensive coordinator. They also have players being told to go to the locker room mid-game. P.J. Walker is starting at quarterback. It is a mess. If the Buccaneers want to prove they are still contenders, they need to win this game and cover.

Pick: Buccaneers

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

Cleveland has won two games, but are very close to having just one win on the season. They are a little outmatched against the Ravens. Baltimore just needs to keep their foot on the gas and finish games stronger.

Pick: Ravens

Sunday Evening

Houston Texans at Las Vegas Raiders (-7)

Houston has one of the worst rosters in the league and they are struggling to score points. After a rough start to the season, the Raiders will want to use this game as a springboard for the rest of the season.

Pick: Raiders

New York Jets at Denver Broncos (-3)

After struggling on offense the Broncos have lost Javonte Williams to injury and benched Melvin Gordon. That locker room doesn’t seem like things are going well. The Jets are on a high right now after beating the Packers and they have the talent to go win an ugly game in Denver.

Pick: Jets

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5)

The Seahawks have found life on offense via Geno Smith and Kenneth Walker this season. Los Angeles has not had the best offense on the year. They still have the talent to win, but the Seahawks can keep this game close, especially given the Chargers’ injuries.

Pick: Seahawks

Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers were not as bad as they showed against the Falcons, but they still won’t be able to keep up with the Chiefs. Kansas City will want to get back on the right track after dropping the game to Buffalo in week 6.

Pick: Chiefs

Sunday Night Football

Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins (-7)

Tua Tagovailoa is expected back for the Dolphins and it couldn’t come at a better time. The Steelers really struggle defending the pass and Kenny Pickett may miss the game with a concussion. If Tagovailoa can find the magic he had early in the season, the Dolphins can cover.

Pick: Dolphins

Monday Night Football

Chicago Bears at New England Patriots (-8)

Chicago is still failing to score, which makes this game tough because the Patriots’ defense is not one that is easily scored on. Although they have had a backup quarterback in the game in Bailey Zappe, the Patriots have looked good.

Pick: Patriots
