NFL Week 7 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 7 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last week: 8-6, Season total: 46-47-1
Denver Broncos at Cleveland Browns (-3.5)
This Thursday night is going to be an interesting matchup. Denver has lost three straight and reports are coming out that the locker room is being lost. Cleveland has injuries to Baker Mayfield (expected to play), Nick Chubb (questionable) and Kareem Hunt (out), along with several other key players. Because of the injuries, Denver should be able to keep it close.
Pick: Broncos
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)
The Bengals have never won a game against the Ravens since Lamar Jackson became the quarterback. This is a different Bengals team, but Jackson is on another level right now.
Pick: Ravens
Washington Football Team at Green Bay Packers (-9.5)
Green Bay may get David Bakhtiari back this week, which would be a huge help. Aaron Rodgers is on fire. Washington’s defense hasn’t played as well as expected and Antonio Gibson is playing through a stress fracture.
Pick: Packers
Atlanta Falcons (-2.5) at Miami Dolphins
Right now, these are two of the worst teams in the league. Miami was projected to be better, but their offensive line has been bad. Atlanta may not have the talent to take advantage of that. The Dolphins should be able to keep it close and win at home, especially with Tua Tagovailoa back.
Pick: Dolphins
New York Jets at New England Patriots (-7.5)
The Patriots defense and Mac Jones kept them in the game against the Cowboys, while the Jets are coming off a bye. New England’s defense is going to make things tough on the Jets and cover in this game.
Pick: Patriots
Carolina Panthers (-2.5) at New York Giants
The Giants are decimated by injuries right now and did not get a confidence boost against the Rams. Carolina has struggled recently, but they should be able to get back on track with good defensive effort.
Pick: Panthers
Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5) at Tennessee Titans
Tennessee just beat the Bills at home, but now are going to be on a short week against the Chiefs. If the Titans get down early, will they be able to catch up? On the other hand, will the Chiefs’ defense be able to step up? Kansas City should get things back on track this week.
Pick: Chiefs
Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams (-14.5)
This is the Jared Goff–Matthew Stafford revenge game. The Rams are firing on all cylinders right now, while the Lions just lost big to the Bengals.
Pick: Rams
Philadelphia Eagles at Las Vegas Raiders (-3.5)
The Raiders surprisingly rebounded from a crazy week where Jon Gruden was fired to beat the Broncos. How much longer they can continue is in question. Jalen Hurts is playing solid football this year and should be able to keep the Eagles close.
Pick: Eagles
Houston Texans at Arizona Cardinals (-16.5)
Arizona is the best team in the league right now and the Texans look like they are the opposite. The Cardinals will want to win this revenge game big for DeAndre Hopkins and J.J. Watt.
Pick: Cardinals
Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-13.5)
The Bears only lost to the Packers by 10 last week. They should be able to put up a similar showing against the Buccaneers, who have plenty of injuries in their secondary right now.
Pick: Bears
Indianapolis Colts at San Francisco 49ers (-3.5)
San Francisco is still figuring things out with Trey Lance at quarterback. They will likely be able to win this game, but the Colts will try to run the ball and play defense to shorten the game and keep it close. Indianapolis will come up just short.
Pick: Colts
New Orleans Saints (-5.5) at Seattle Seahawks
Geno Smith is playing better than expected right now for the Seahawks. Unfortunately, he could be without several running backs in this game. The Saints have a solid defense and have Jameis Winston playing smart football at the moment.
Pick: Saints
