The NFL season is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are NFL week 6 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last Week: 5-9
Season: 37-41
Philadelphia Eagles (-7) at New York Giants
The Eagles lost to the Broncos after controlling the game for most of the time. Saquon Barkley only had six carries. They will likely correct things and be able to win big over the Giants, who just lost to the Saints, giving them their first win of the season.
Pick: Eagles
Denver Broncos (-7) at New York Jets (Game in London)
Denver went on the road last week and defeated the Eagles. Their defense is great and the offense seems like they are starting to put things together. The Jets just lost big to the Cowboys and don’t have much to build on.
Pick: Broncos
Dallas Cowboys (-3.5) at Carolina Panthers
Dallas has a great offense that is hard to keep up with. The defense has shown signs of improvement. Carolina could struggle to score enough points to keep up with the Cowboys.
Pick: Cowboys
Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts (-6.5)
Arizona blew a game they were in control of against the Titans. They haven’t looked good in a few weeks, while the Colts have played well in every game this season. They should be able to win by a touchdown at home.
Pick: Colts
Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5) at Miami Dolphins
Miami is another team that had a meltdown in week 5. They are a team that is starting to slip. While the Chargers did lose in week 5, they have been better overall this season and can cover on the road.
Pick: Chargers
New England Patriots (-3.5) at New Orleans Saints
The Saints got on the board with a win against the Giants. New England impressed with their upset win over the Bills. The Patriots’ defense will make things tough for the Saints and they can cover the spread on the road.
Pick: Patriots
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-4)
Cleveland is coming back from London, while Pittsburgh is coming off a bye. The Steelers’ defense will make things tough for Dillon Gabriel and Pittsburgh can cover at home.
Pick: Steelers
Seattle Seahawks (-1.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to impress after beating Kansas City on Monday Night Football. Seattle has played well, but beating a good team on the road could be too much for them.
Pick: Jaguars
Los Angeles Rams (-6.5) at Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson missed last week and could be out this week. Even if he ends up playing, it will be tough for him to be as effective. The Rams can exploit the Ravens’ defensive weaknesses and cover on the road.
Pick: Rams
Tennessee Titans at Las Vegas Raiders (-4.5)
The Raiders defeated the Patriots in week 1 and have had a tough schedule since. They have started to get the rushing attack going, and if Geno Smith can limit turnovers, they can protect their home field and win by a touchdown. The Titans were able to win against the Cardinals and deserve some credit, but winning two games on the road in a row is tough.
Pick: Raiders
San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5)
Tampa Bay has battled through injuries and still continues to win games. Baker Mayfield and Emeka Egbuka are playing incredibly. San Francisco is still really banged up and going on the road probably won’t end well for them.
Pick: Buccaneers
Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers (-14.5)
The Bengals are a complete mess without Joe Burrow. Jake Browning is turning the ball over and the defense is struggling. Green Bay is coming off a bye and should be able to win by a lot.
Pick: Packers
Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5)
Kansas City continues to show they have issues and still have just two wins. The Lions continue to improve after a bad week 1 showing, so they could go on the road and pick up a win.
Pick: Lions
Buffalo Bills (-3.5) at Atlanta Falcons
Buffalo lost to the Patriots in week 5, but still played well. Atlanta is coming off a bye, but have been inconsistent this year. Picking the Bills to cover is the smart play.
Pick: Bills
Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders (-4.5)
Chicago had a bye in week 5. Washington got Jayden Daniels back and it showed how important he is, as they beat the Chargers. Daniels and co. can cover at home.
Pick: Commanders
