NFL Week 6 Picks Against the Spread

Publish Date: October 8, 2024

NFL Week 6 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 6 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)

Last Week: 9-5

Season: 40-35-3

Thursday Night Football

San Francisco 49ers (-3) at Seattle Seahawks

Seattle just lost to the Giants and their defense has some issues. The 49ers can exploit the defense, even on a short week.

Pick: 49ers

Sunday Morning

Jacksonville Jaguars at Chicago Bears (-2)

Jacksonville got in the win column last week against the Colts. The Bears have played good defense this season and should be able to make the Jaguars stagnant on offense like they were the first few weeks of the season.

Pick: Bears

Sunday Afternoon

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5) at New Orleans Saints

New Orleans started the year well, but have slowed down significantly. They will be on a short week for this game. Tampa Bay has too many weapons and the Saints may not be able to catch up offensively.

Pick: Buccaneers

Arizona Cardinals at Green Bay Packers (-5)

Green Bay got things back on track in week 5 with a win over the Rams. There is still some sloppy play on their end. Arizona’s upset over San Francisco can give them confidence enough to keep this close.

Pick: Cardinals

Indianapolis Colts (-1) at Tennessee Titans

Tennessee is coming off a bye, but they have issues finding consistency on offense. The turnovers could come back to get them in this game. Indianapolis can find success whether Anthony Richardson or Joe Flacco is at quarterback.

Pick: Colts

Cleveland Browns at Philadelphia Eagles (-8.5)

Philadelphia is also coming off a bye this week. Cleveland has a disaster of an offense and the Eagles’ defense can play better in this game. They can win and cover at home.

Pick: Eagles

Houston Texans (-7) at New England Patriots

New England has reports of locker room issues and they haven’t played good football since week 1. Houston hasn’t played their best football, but they are undefeated. This could be a week when they play a complete game.

Pick: Texans

Washington Commanders at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

Washington’s offense is on fire with Jayden Daniels leading the way. Baltimore’s offense has had success this season, but the defense has given up some big games. The Ravens can win, but the Commanders can keep it close.

Pick: Commanders

Sunday Evening

Los Angeles Chargers (-3) at Denver Broncos

The Chargers were on bye in week five giving them ample time to prep. Denver has some offensive limitations with Bo Nix at quarterback and the Chargers should be able to outscore them.

Pick: Chargers

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) at Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas has a quarterback issue and at least one player who wants a new team. The Steelers’ defense can lead them to a win on the road.

Pick: Steelers

Atlanta Falcons (-6) at Carolina Panthers

Inserting Andy Dalton into the lineup saw immediate results, but those are wearing off. Atlanta has extra time to prepare for this game and Kirk Cousins is playing well.

Pick: Falcons

Detroit Lions (-3.5) at Dallas Cowboys

The Lions are coming off a bye and run the ball well. Coincidentally, the Cowboys struggle against the run. Detroit can wear them down and win the game.

Pick: Lions

Sunday Night Football

Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5) at New York Giants

The Bengals’ defense has not been good, but their offense has been on fire. A few key turnovers against the Giants can help them win and cover on the road.

Pick: Bengals

Monday Night Football

Buffalo Bills (-2.5) at New York Jets

Buffalo just had a tough game against the Texans, but should be able to rebound. New York made a head coaching change, which may give them a temporary lift, but it will be hard to keep up with the Bills.

Pick: Bills
