NFL Week 5 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 6 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last Week: 11-2-1
Season: 50-24-4
Thursday Night Football
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5)
The Broncos are a mess and it doesn’t look like Sean Payton doesn’t have much faith in Russell Wilson. Kansas City hasn’t been at their best, but coming back home should help them win and cover.
Pick: Chiefs
Sunday Morning
Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) vs. Tennessee Titans (Game in London, England)
Baltimore lost on the road to Pittsburgh, but that was a rivalry game. Lamar Jackson played well, but receiver drops killed offensive momentum. They should get things right and win in England.
Pick: Ravens
Sunday Afternoon
San Francisco 49ers (-5) at Cleveland Browns
San Francisco is on fire now. Cleveland is coming off of a bye week, but they haven’t shown they can keep it within a touchdown against a team as good as the 49ers.
Pick: 49ers
New Orleans Saints (-1.5) at Houston Texans
Now that the Saints have Derek Carr and Alvin Kamara on the field, they are playing much better. Their defense also isn’t a joke. They can go on the road and win against the Texans.
Pick: Saints
Carolina Panthers at Miami Dolphins (-13.5)
Losing De’Von Achane will hurt the offense a little, but they still have so many playmakers. They can win and cover at home.
Pick: Dolphins
Seattle Seahawks at Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5)
The Bengals seemed to get things back on track against the Cardinals. Joe Burrow was able to take some shots downfield and move in the pocket. The Seahawks will be a tough matchup, but the Bengals should be able to win at home.
Pick: Bengals
Washington Commanders at Atlanta Falcons (-2.5)
This game is a coin flip. Washington is getting points and had extra time off to prepare for this one, so they are the pick. The key will be getting up early and making the Falcons play from behind.
Pick: Commanders
Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars (-4)
The Jaguars have not found consistent good play this season. Indianapolis will have Gardner Minshew at quarterback, but he has kept the Colts competitive when called into action. The Jaguars will likely win, but it might be by a field goal.
Pick: Colts
Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) at Chicago Bears
Minnesota just had to move Justin Jefferson to IR. The Bears had extra time off to prepare for this game after playing the Commanders on Thursday. Chicago looks like they were figuring things out in that game and can beat the Vikings.
Pick: Bears
Sunday Evening
New England Patriots at Las Vegas Raiders (-3)
New England is a mess. Mac Jones has happy feet in the pocket and they can’t get the running game going. The Raiders can win and cover at home.
Pick: Raiders
Detroit Lions (-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Detroit is taking care of business this season. Tampa Bay is playing better than expected, but it will be hard for their offense to be effective when going up against Detroit’s pass rush.
Pick: Lions
Los Angeles Rams (-6.5) at Arizona Cardinals
The Rams now have Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua working together. Their offense can thrive, while their defense can be competitive. Winning on the road by a touchdown over the Cardinals is more than possible.
Pick: Rams
Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5) at New York Jets
Zach Wilson is too inconsistent to keep this game to within a touchdown. Even if the Jets’ defense plays well, it won’t be enough to keep it within one score.
Pick: Eagles
Sunday Night Football
New York Giants at Buffalo Bills (-14)
Josh Allen and the Bills are firing on all cylinders. The Giants look like a mess, but they just kept things to 15 points against the Dolphins and can get it under the spread this week, especially if Saquon Barkley plays.
Pick: Giants
Monday Night Football
Dallas Cowboys (-2) at Los Angeles Chargers
Dallas took a beating against San Francisco, but they are still a talented team. They can get things right against the Chargers, who have had a lot going on this season between injuries and trades.
Pick: Cowboys
