NFL Week 16 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 16 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last Week: 10-5-1
Season: 128-89-8
New Orleans Saints at Los Angeles Rams (-4)
The Saints have looked better over the last two weeks, but haven’t played the best competition. Matt Stafford is playing really well for the Rams and they have won four of their last five games.
Pick: Rams
Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers
Jake Browning and the Bengals are on a roll. The defense is also playing better. With the Steelers’ quarterback issues, the Bengals can stay in the playoff hunt with a win.
Pick: Bengals
Buffalo Bills (-11.5) at Los Angeles Chargers
The Bills seem to have found their stride. They ran the ball well against the Cowboys and they should be able to run the ball well against the Chargers too.
Pick: Bills
Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans (-2.5)
C.J. Stroud will likely return for this game, which helps the Texans chances. The Browns’ defense will make things difficult, especially with injuries along Houston’s offensive line.
Pick: Browns
Indianapolis Colts (-2) at Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are making another quarterback change to go back to Taylor Heinicke. That isn’t a good omen and shows were the offense is at. Indianapolis will run the ball, control the clock and win the game.
Pick: Colts
Seattle Seahawks (-2.5) at Tennessee Titans
Seattle was able to get a win with Drew Lock at quarterback against the Eagles. Whether he is starting or Geno Smith is, they should be able to win and cover against the Titans.
Pick: Seahawks
Green Bay Packers (-4.5) at Carolina Panthers
While the Packers’ defense has not played well in the last few weeks, going up against the Panthers shouldn’t pose as big of a problem. The Panthers won last week, but it was during a storm against a Falcons team that has been inconsistent.
Pick: Packers
Washington Commanders at New York Jets (-3)
With each week the Commanders seem to get worse. They have a coach who knows he’s going to be gone and the defense has allowed at least 28 points in each of the last five weeks.
Pick: Jets
Detroit Lions (-3) at Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are down to Nick Mullens at quarterback. Their defense can do decently at times, but the Lions should be able to protect Jared Goff to win and cover.
Pick: Lions
Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1)
Trevor Lawrence is in the concussion protocol and is questionable for the week. C.J. Beathard still may be able to get them the win if Lawrence can’t play.
Pick: Jaguars
Arizona Cardinals at Chicago Bears (-4.5)
There is no shame in losing to the 49ers like the Cardinals did in week 15. They have been a scrappy team all season and can rebound to play the Bears close this week.
Pick: Cardinals
Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins (-1.5)
Dallas had an illness going through the locker room last week and they played like it against the Bills. With Tyreek Hill being banged up and the Cowboys presumably getting healthier, they can go on the road and defeat the Dolphins.
Pick: Cowboys
New England Patriots at Denver Broncos (-6.5)
While the Broncos had a tough week, they have the Patriots coming to town. Their defense can shut them down and their offense can put up some points.
Pick: Broncos
Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-10)
The Chiefs aren’t playing their best football right now. They need to use this game to get things back on track, as the Raiders have not been playing well.
Pick: Chiefs
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-10.5)
Philadelphia will be able to beat the Giants, but they will be on a short week and have not been playing up to their standards. The Giants could keep things within the spread.
Pick: Giants
Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers (-5.5)
Two of the hottest teams in the league will be playing on Monday Night Football. The 49ers are on fire since their bye week. Baltimore will be a tough test. They will stop the run and keep things close, even if they don’t end up winning the game.
Pick: Ravens
