NFL Week 14 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 14 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from tallysight as of Tuesday morning)
Last week: 7-7, Season total: 93-100-1
Thursday Night Football
Pittsburgh Steelers at Minnesota Vikings(-3.5)
The Steelers escaped against the Ravens with a win, but still have trouble moving the ball consistently on offense. Even with injuries on their offense, the Vikings should be able to move the ball more consistently and win at home.
Pick: Vikings
Sunday Afternoon
Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers (-3)
Carolina may be coming off a bye, but they are a mess. Christian McCaffrey is out for the season and Joe Brady has been fired as offensive coordinator. Atlanta can beat mediocre teams and can win this game on the road.
Pick: Falcons
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (-2.5)
The Ravens have a lot of injuries, even though they are still battling tough. For the Browns, they keep on trotting Baker Mayfield onto the field even though he is clearly injured and can’t play at his best. The Ravens can win a tough one against the Browns.
Pick: Ravens
Seattle Seahawks (-7.5) at Houston Texans
Seattle seemed to get things back on track against the 49ers. They likely won’t have too much trouble with the Texans, who will be without Tyrod Taylor. The Seahawks will win and cover if they play like they did against the 49ers.
Pick: Seahawks
Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-9.5)
Kansas City is still struggling to play like they did in previous years, but they’re winning games. Las Vegas needs to win in the tight AFC playoff race. The Chiefs may win, but the Raiders will keep it close.
Pick: Raiders
New Orleans Saints (-6) at New York Jets
The Jets didn’t even prepare for Gardner Minshew in week 13. They can’t be trusted to win or keep it close against a solid Saints team.
Pick: Saints
Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans (-9.5)
Tennessee has had plenty of injury issues, which has put a lot of pressure on Ryan Tannehill. They lost two straight heading into their bye week and should recover with a win, but the Jaguars can keep it close due to the Titans’ injuries.
Pick: Jaguars
Dallas Cowboys (-4) at Washington Football Team
Dallas is getting healthier now and although Washington is on fire, the Cowboys should be able to win and cover on the road.
Pick: Cowboys
Sunday Evening
Detroit Lions at Denver Broncos (-7.5)
Detroit is coming off their first win of the season and have played teams tough. Denver doesn’t have the quarterback play to blow the Lions out like they should. The Broncos will win at home, but it will be close.
Pick: Lions
New York Giants at Los Angeles Chargers (-10)
The Chargers’ rush defense has been a problem this season, so the Giants may be able to move the ball. They can keep it close on the road, before Justin Herbert wins the game for the Chargers.
Pick: Giants
San Francisco 49ers at Cincinnati Bengals (-1)
Cincinnati turned the ball over four times against the Chargers, but still had a chance in the fourth quarter. If they take care of the ball, they can win and cover at home.
Pick: Bengals
Buffalo Bills at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3)
Buffalo is on a short week and are going on the road this week. Tampa Bay should be more ready for the game and should get the win.
Pick: Buccaneers
Sunday Night Football
Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (-12.5)
Green Bay has a defense to go with Aaron Rodgers this year. They will beat the Bears, but in a divisional game, it will likely be within two touchdowns.
Pick: Bears
Monday Night Football
Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals (-3)
The Rams used the game against the Jaguars to get their offense figured out. Now they should be able to go and upset the Cardinals.
Pick: Rams
