NFL week 10 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 10 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from tallysight.com as of Wednesday morning)
Last week: 5-9, Overall: 69-63-1
Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (-1.5)
The Titans were able to beat the Bears last week, but their offense was a mess. Indianapolis has a good defense, but also has the offense to threaten the Titans this week.
This week: Colts
Washington Football Team at Detroit Lions (-4)
Kyle Allen was hurt and then Alex Smith threw three interceptions in Washington’s game against the Giants. Detroit has struggled this year, but with Washington getting that type of quarterback play, the Lions should be able to cover at home.
This week: Lions
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5) at Carolina Panthers
The Buccaneers have struggled this year, but that is mostly in their two games against the Saints. In other games, they have looked like one of the best teams in the league. They should win and cover on the road.
This week: Buccaneers
Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns (-3)
Cleveland has proven to be able to win games against teams they should beat. The Texans will likely be able to put up some fight in this game, but the Browns’ pass rush will help them cover.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Green Bay Packers (-13)
Philadelphia Eagles (-3) at New York Giants
While the Eagles aren’t a great team, they are much better than the Giants. With Philadelphia being in the driver’s seat, they’ll want to play great to move even further ahead.
Los Angeles Chargers at Miami Dolphins (-2.5)
How can anyone bet on the Chargers after how many games they lose in the final minutes? This one could be within a touchdown, but the Dolphins will win this one at home.
Buffalo Bills at Arizona Cardinals (-1.5)
This line is intriguing. The Cardinals are coming off of a loss at home to the Dolphins, while the Bills won a big game over the Seahawks at home. The Bills should be able to go on the road and beat the Cardinals if the Dolphins did.
Denver Broncos at Las Vegas Raiders (-5)
If the Broncos were fully healthy, this pick would likely go in their direction. Derek Carr is playing some of the best football of his career and the Raiders look like they are in position to make a playoff run.
Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams (-1.5)
While the Rams are coming off of a bye, the Seahawks can beat a team in so many ways. Their defense doesn’t allow them to dominate competition, but Seattle can run the ball and Russell Wilson is having a great year throwing the ball too.
San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints (-9)
The Saints are coming off of a big win over the Buccaneers and it seems like their defense is coming together. With the 49ers having so many injuries, the Saints should cover at home.
Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5)
Cincinnati has made progress this year, but it will take a lot to beat this spread. If Ben Roethlisberger is able to play in this one, the Steelers will cover. The Bengals’ lack of enthusiasm tackling could catch up to them in this one.
Baltimore Ravens (-7) at New England Patriots
The Patriots had a short week and now have to play last year’s MVP. Baltimore’s defense will make life tough for Cam Newton and the Patriots’ offense.
Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) at Chicago Bears
Chicago is a mess, but there is no way the Vikings should be favored in this game. Kirk Cousins doesn’t play well in prime time games and the Bears still have a good defense.
