The NFL is apparently not satisfied with Deshaun Watson’s six-game suspension handed down by Judge Sue L. Robinson. According to the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the NFLPA, the NFL has three days to send in its appeal.
NFL Media Group’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
It is all but known that the NFL was pushing not only for a year-long suspension, but for a conditional return after the year was up. That means he would have to meet many conditions to be reinstated, which would probably not be the case right away.
The judge will have to look at the evidence again pursuant to the NFL’s claims that his suspension should be longer. It should be noted that Judge Robinson ruled Watson’s actions as “nonviolent” sexual assault actions. If the definition of “nonviolent” is shifted as far as her decision is concerned, then the appeal will likely work.
