The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. The bowl season schedule allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2019 Celebration Bowl.
North Carolina A&T Aggies Prospects
Elijah Bell, WR
Bell has been a star for the Aggies for years. The wide receiver leads the team in about every major receiving category. He has 53 receptions for 782 yards and six touchdowns this season. His production has put him among the best prospects from HBCUs.
He is 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, which makes him a decently big receiver for the NFL. Bell will have a chance to make an NFL roster.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth round-undrafted free agent
Jah-Maine Carter, RB
Carter started his career out at Coastal Carolina before transferring to North Carolina A&T. In his career, he has 2,163 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns. This season he has exploded for 1,336 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. His production should get him some NFL looks.
At 5-foot-10 and 203 pounds, Carter has a good build for an NFL running back. He will probably be relegated to a two-down back, as he didn’t do much catching out of the backfield in his career. As a redshirt junior, Carter will likely go back to school.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Alcorn State Braves Prospects
Kevin Hall, OT
Hall has been recognized for his run blocking over the last few seasons. In 2018, he helped block for two 1,000 yard rushers. He is one of the best players at an HBCU in general and should be a good candidate to make an NFL roster.
He is a little skinny at 290 pounds, but has NFL height at 6-foot-6. To go with that, he also has solid athleticism that could help him compete against NFL players.
Projected Draft Range: Seventh round-undrafted free agent
Qwynnterrio Cole, DB
The Braves have a playmaker in the secondary in Cole, who has been doing it for a few years. Before last season, he was an HBCU All-American and a First-Team SWAC player. This season he has five interceptions and 78 total tackles.
He has great height, at 6-foot-3, but will need to continue adding to his frame, as he weighs just 190 pounds. Cole is just a junior who will likely decide to return to Alcorn State for his senior season.
Projected Draft Range: Seventh round-undrafted free agent
De’Shawn Waller, RB
Waller has been on Alcorn State’s campus for two seasons and has helped the team in a variety of ways. He has 1,659 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground. His production on the ground has dipped this season, but he has also returned kicks and punts for the Braves.
He stands 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds, which is solid for an NFL back. His versatility will give him a chance to make a roster, but it is an uphill battle for the senior.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
