The NFL Divisional Round is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL Wild Card Round picks against the spread. (Spreads are from tallysight.com as of Monday afternoon)
Last week: 1-4-1, Overall: 126–131-5
Saturday
Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay Packers (-7)
The Rams may be able to run the football against the Packers, but once Aaron Rodgers starts putting ups some points, they won’t be able to keep up. Jared Goff still isn’t 100 percent, so if the Packers can put up some points early, they should be able to cover the spread, even against the Rams’ solid defense.
Pick: Packers
Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills (-2)
Baltimore finally got a playoff win for Lamar Jackson. It will be much more difficult to go into Buffalo and get a win. The Bills just won a tough game against the Colts. They will try to make Jackson beat them with his legs and then the good Buffalo secondary can do the rest. Josh Allen should be able to lead the offense and team to victory.
Pick: Bills
Sunday
Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs (-10)
The biggest spread of the weekend has the Chiefs favored by 10. Kansas City will likely win the game, but the Browns are capable of keeping this one close. Cleveland can run the ball well and played well against the Steelers despite not having several key components. The Browns should be able to control the clock early before the Chiefs end up taking the lead and winning.
Pick: Browns
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints (-3)
Two of the Buccaneers’ losses this season are to the Saints. They will want revenge and as they always say, it is really hard to beat a team three times. Tom Brady will at least be able to keep this matchup close, as he will not be happy with how he played the last time the two teams met. The Saints defense isn’t better than defenses Brady has beaten before. Look for the ball to be spread out to all of the Bucs’ talented weapons and for them to upset the Saints.
Pick: Buccaneers
