The New York Giants are bringing back their 1980s-1990s uniforms for the 2022-2023 season. This includes the navy helmet with a red stripe and the underlined word “Giants” on the side, and the blue uniforms with red trim on the sleeves and neck.
The Giants’ official Twitter account released multiple pictures and videos of the throwback look on their Twitter account on Wednesday.

Along with the look itself, the Giants announced when they will be wearing these throwback uniforms. They will wear them in Week 4 on October 2 at home against the Chicago Bears, and in Week 13 on December 4 at home against the Washington Commanders.
These uniforms were worn during two Super Bowl wins in the 80s and 90s. Once in 1987, when the Giants defeated the Broncos 39-20, the other in 1991, when they defeated the Buffalo Bills in the “wide right” game. That would be the first of the Bills’ four consecutive losses in the Super Bowl. The Giants have made the Super Bowl three times since 1991, winning twice.
