Adams, 25, is a former third round pick by the Green Bay Packers, which is where he spent the first four years of his career. He has notched four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in his career.
For the Patriots, Adams will provide solid defensive line depth, as they try to get back to the playoffs after missing last season.
