The Vikings will be parting ways with their running back, Dalvin Cook, according to Tom Pelissero. If a trade isn’t reached, Cook will be a free agent by 4 p.m. EST on Friday.
Cook, 27, is a four-time Pro Bowler who has rushed for 5,993 yards and 47 touchdowns in six career seasons. He also has 1,794 receiving yards and five touchdown catches in his career.
Last season for the Vikings, Cook played 17 games, registering 1,173 rushing yards, 295 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns.
The move comes after plenty of front-office changes happened before last season. The Vikings will save $9 million in cap space by cutting Cook.
