The Minnesota Vikings are releasing cornerback Xavier Rhodes according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. They will also be parting ways with defensive tackle Linval Joseph.
Rhodes, 29, is a three-time Pro Bowler and a one-time All-Pro. He was the Vikings’ first-round pick in 2013 and developed into a star. In his career, Rhodes has 10 interceptions and 73 passes defended. Even though he made the Pro Bowl this season, there was belief that Rhodes’ play was slipping. He is now an unrestricted free agent.
The Vikings also released Linval Joseph, who has spent the last six seasons in Minnesota. He has 50 tackles for loss and 24 sacks in his career.
