The Minnesota Vikings have placed a franchise tag on safety Anthony Harris according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
A surprise: the #Vikings have franchise tagged S Anthony Harris, either keeping him in Minnesota or allowing them to trade him. Maybe the top FA safety won’t be free.

Harris, 28, was one of the best projected free agents at the safety position, but will now stay in Minnesota or be traded.
He has developed into a star next to Harrison Smith in the secondary for the Vikings. In his five pro seasons, Harris has 180 total tackles, 21 passes defended and nine interceptions. Last season, Harris had 60 tackles, 11 passes defended and six interceptions.
Minnesota will now keep one of the best safety tandems in the league, as they look to compete for a Super Bowl.
