The Minnesota Vikings and quarterback Kirk Cousins agreed to a 2-year contract extension according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The extension is for $66 million over two seasons. With the last year of his deal and these two extra seasons, he will make $96 million over those three seasons. He is guaranteed $61 million.
Cousins, 31, is a two-time Pro Bowler who has spent the last two seasons with the Vikings after getting a big contract from the team prior to the 2018 season. He passed for 3,603 yards, 26 touchdowns and six interceptions on 69.1 percent completion last season. In his pro career, Cousins has thrown for 24,107 yards, 155 touchdowns and 71 interceptions on 66.9 percent completion.
The Vikings agreeing to the extension extends their shelf life to compete.
