Michael Pierce signs a 3-year deal with the Ravens

Michael Pierce Ravens

Defensive tackle Michael Pierce is returning to the team that gave him his first shot at an NFL career back in 2016. The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly signing Pierce to a three-year, $16.5 million contract. There is no word on guaranteed money.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.

Pierce was a Raven from 2016 until 2019, when Baltimore gave him a chance after he was undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. After four years in Baltimore, he joined the Vikings on a three-year, $27 million contract, but he opted out of the 2020 season.

In 2021, he played and started in eight total games. An elbow injury precluded him from playing all 17 games. He had one forced fumble, three sacks and 20 combined tackles in those eight games. Now he returns to Ravens, who had horrible injury issues of their own in 2021.
