Former Kansas City Chief, NFL journeyman and current Super Bowl LVII Champion fullback has signed a new contract with the Broncos. His new deal is reportedly for one year, for a yet-unknown amount of money.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Burton, one of the last remaining fullbacks in the league who is listed and used as such, began his NFL career as a fifth round draft pick back in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was with the Kansas City Chiefs for two seasons before this deal was struck.
He played in all 17 games last season, but did not see the highest usage rate on offense of his career. He rushed the ball five times for seven yards and no scores, adding two catches for 11 yards through the air. Burton had 57 total yards during the 2021 season.
